Dean Parks is a guitarist known for his work with the acclaimed band Steely Dan. He is also a multi-instrumentalist and songwriter. Dean Parks was born in Fort Worth, Texas, and was a member of the North Texas State One O'clock Band before moving to Los Angeles, California, in 1970 to be a musician for Sonny & Cher. Since then, he has been active in the music industry as a much sought-after session musician.
He has performed on and written music for movies and television shows including The Big Bounce, Bowfinger, Even Cowgirls Get the Blues, For Your Consideration, Foul Play, Four Brothers, In an Instant, The Jungle Book, My Big Fat Greek Wedding, The Notebook, September Dawn, The Spitfire Grill, Starsky & Hutch, That Thing You Do, and Wyatt Earp.
Throughout the last four decades in the business, he has worked with hundreds of groups, composers, musicians, and singers, including Chet Atkins, Joan Baez, Michael Bolton, Jackson Browne, Joe Cocker, Leonard Cohen, Celine Dion, Don Henley, Kenny Loggins, Lyle Lovett, Reba McEntire, Bette Midler, Dolly Parton, Kenny Rogers, George Strait, Randy Travis, and Brian Wilson, to name a few.
Dean Parks discovered BENADO products while working at Vince Gill's studio. He owns the original PB-1, which is the predecessor to The PRO.
